You can apply for more than one degree simultaneously; however, the B.Ed. is issued first, then the M.Ed. Many students decide to do a B.Ed. and M.Ed. combination. What should I answer if a future employer asks me how long it took to obtain my degree?
The B.Ed. programme is a four-year minimum combination on-campus, workshop, teaching or job experience, along with the study programme. The M.Ed. is a two-year programme. Some graduates have mistakenly commented that they obtained their degree in just one year. This degree is only available to those who already have 4 years (2 + 4 years for M.Ed.) of work or teaching experience.
In addition to that, a year or a year-and-a-half of additional workshops, courses, studies, seminars and conventions are required to complete the programme.

While I am completing my thesis, can I obtain a Support Letter as a full time student?
Yes. Simply indicate on the bottom of the registration form: SUPPORT LETTER PLEASE. This letter will indicate that you are enrolled in the University degree programme and that you are currently completing the syllabus. This is useful when applying for work.

If I fail my degree studies, will I qualify for a reimbursement?
Our philosophy is not to fail but to help you fix your final work whenever possible. If you score under 70%, we may ask you redo certain modules. If you have successfully completed the on-campus training, you should have no problem with the distance study programme.

Will the University issue a transcript with the diploma?
Yes. This will not be issued before the degree is completed, but will be automatically issued along with the degree.

Where can I have my documents notarised or certified?
Notary, lawyer, bank, Town Hall, university, school or Institute (with a seal or official stamp). The purpose of the stamp is not to prove the validity of the original copy, but to simply state that the photocopy is a true copy of the original.

Can I expect a refund of tuition fees if I wish to cancel or decide I can no longer pursue my degree?
After 30 days from the date of registration and payment of fees, there are no refunds. However if you decide sometime in the future to complete your studies, your original deposit will be deducted from the current fee. In the case of critical illness, severe accident, or some other unexpected circumstance beyond your control, the original deposit will not be refunded. However, other amounts that have been paid will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

How long will it take to receive my degree after completing the requirements?
60 - 90 days once student has paid in full, sent all his/her documents and his/her study work is completed and approved (adjustments may be necessary).

Important note: The time it takes to get ones work approved will depend on how closely the student has followed instructions and how much grammar, spelling and other adjustments are necessary.

What can I achieve with my diploma?
University of Science, Arts and Technology offers a world-class learning programme of higher education. Most students who graduate through the European Learning Centre have plans to work and teach abroad. Being that USAT is a fully accredited university, the degree obtained has very good acceptance in most cases. Nevertheless, USAT does not guarantee the granting of work visas or other documents in countries where graduates may decide to work. If you plan to work or continue your education in the public schooling system of North America or Europe, we recommend that you verify the requirements of the country or school where you plan to teach.
